I've mentioned the Golden Spiders and the distinct lack of a website more than once over the last couple of months.
Well they've finally got around to putting up a website (of sorts).
A couple of things....
- The site is not valid (X)HTML - for a web awards site this is a bit laughable
- It's not hosted in Ireland - not exactly encouraging the Irish industry its meant to be celebrating
- You have to pay €100 to nominate someone
- Apart from the headline sponsor, who else is behind it?
- Is there enough space for two awards so close together? (the Netvisionaries are on two weeks earlier)
- Why weren't nominations opened earlier?
Ireland's most prestigious and longest running Internet awards competition.wouldn't you think they'd have got the basics right?

Looks like they're trying to go cutting edge with a best blog category, maybe they're trying to steal the thunder of the blog and podcast awards :D
Piaras
I wouldn't mind, but running their awards so close to the IIA ones is a bit mental. It would have made a lot more sense if they'd waited until sometime in the new year or something
I can't believe it!!
I never thought I would see "spacer.gif" in a webpage again. lol. who does their work for them.
Cutting edge web awards indeed.
Hey dont knock the spacer.gif, it saved me when I was in 'Name and it saved your asses during the Iraqi War - besides - css/divs aint all its cracked up to be :)
