As part of my preparation for the IIA seminar on blogging next month I would like to put together a couple of examples of Irish business blogs.

Normally, if the Economist magazine publishes tech related stuff, it's a sure sign that it's going mainstream.
As another example of 'Irish Business Blogs' - I'd count myself - http://www.firstpartners.net/blog.
Couple of reasons why we do it:
1) Shameless self publicity and Google page rank.
2) It's a more 'personal' face than the 'Corporate' website (http://www.firstpartners.net). We've seen so many corporate websites that those marketing blurbs are not as believable as before. In the consulting business, people tend to buy the 'person' rather than the 'company'
3) It's a good way of organising the knowlege within the company - you blog about something you're working on , and it serves as a useful reminder 6 months later. All this knowledge is already in the public domain / on the internet , but the blog puts it into one place.
Another question - how come your presentation is in the Hilton Hotel, while we have to slum it in thr Morgan for the Web 2.0 presentation? :-)
