I like my iPod Nano. It's "cute", "dinky" etc.,
It also holds several hours of music, which is ideal when I'm travelling or even in the office when I want to isolate myself from the background noise and focus on a particular task.
However, much as I may love my iPod it is far from perfect.
In the short time that I've owned it the headphones have already started causing problems and the ear pads have fallen off (yes - they do give you spares, but that's not the point).
The case / wallet that comes with the Nano is good for keeping it from getting scratched, but it also keeps it from being used. You have to physically take the iPod out of the case to change tracks or increase the volume, so it ends up on my desk, where it is prone to being scratched or even dropped.
So what is the solution?
I thought I'd look into getting some form of case for it.
I never expected to discover an entire industry in the process.
The range of accessories available for iPods is, to say the least, overwhelming. While I started out looking for a case I quickly found myself exploring all sorts of other gizmos that compliment the nano.
However I still haven't found a case that I want.
I'm not into feminine colours and polka dots. All I want is a simple, yet robust, leather case for an iPod Nano.
Anyone know of such a thing?

Maybe you need a flip case like this?

Apple (London) store have some very nice wallets. Try their official site maybe?
Peter - Oooh tasty! That's the kind of thing I'm interested in. More recommendations welcome!
Robin - I had a look at Apple's offerings and wasn't overly impressed. They don't really cater for my simple tastes
The one peter shows is very similar to what I was thinking..
It wasn't Apple, but it was a third party brand in their store. They had hundreds of different types in all colours.
Try eBay too, for a huge range.
Hi Michelle,
I work for a company called Hi Fidelity Marketing, based in Waterford we distribute a range of consumer electronics accessories including little adhesive covers for iPods. They come in a range of 12 different colours, from girly pink, to colourful stripes, to more masculine styles with fireballs, to the really simple style - transparent! They are very effective for protecting your iPod from scratching and are alot less expensive than the other products available (some of which retail at approx. 25 euro!) The adhesives retail at 6.99 euro and are durable but at the same time if you get tired of the design, you can peel it off without leaving any residue on your iPod. Peats in Parnell street are one know stockist. For further details contact me at 051 384120.
best regards,
Sinead
oh.....you can see images of these adhesives I'm talking about at www.allsop.com :-) the manufacturers....but for distribution in ireland, you'll need to contact me (sinead) at Hi Fidelity Marketing 051-384120
Search for Nano at http://www.thecoolhunter.net
Sinead - please spell my name correctly.
I don't normally buy from highstreet shops and wouldn't be going to Dublin just to get a sticker. Aren't there any etailers of your sticker cover things or even a link to an image?
Alan - That link is *evil*! I'm trying to get work done here and I keep getting distracted by shiny objects :)
Sorry :)
Alan - No you are not! :)
Thats true. Muhahaha
I'm sorry too Michele! ;-0
See this link for images.

where are you based geogrpahically?
I'm in Carlow. I generally buy my "toys" online :)
You'd have to, sure there's bugger all in Carlow. ;)
This one looks good:

Jason - that one is quite nice AND cheap :) The shipping will probably screw that up though !
looks like about $8.25 or so .. not bad like :)
In the end I went with Peter's recommendation, though I found a vendor in the UK instead of getting it from the US
