Does anyone know how I could get tickets to a movie premiere in LA?
I'm seriously considering taking a real holiday and LA seems to be the place to go, as I could combine work with pleasure (ie. I'd feel less guilty) by going to Domain Fest.
I've no idea what the lineup for Domain Fest will be like, but it should be interesting and it would make a good excuse :)
So earlier this evening I did a bit of research into flights and hotels. Aer Lingus have some keenly priced tickets to LA at the moment, so I could probably get a return flight for under €400. Hotel prices vary considerably, but a quick search on 1800 Hotels did bear some fruit.
Of course I'd like to actually relax and do touristy things, such as seeing all the famous places and spending money that I don't really have (aren't credit cards great?). As Hollywood is, well, Hollywood and I love films a movie premiere would be a bonus, but is that even possible?
Thoughts anyone?

No chance of playing the corporate card while you're in town :) Contacts who know contacts who know contacts...

I will be talking to a few of my US contacts, but I don't think any of them have any contacts in the entertainment industry..

I'd start looking here: http://www.seeing-stars.com/Calendar/index.shtml#premieres as it's a list of upcoming premieres and then read the info here: http://www.manntheatres.com/premieres/upcoming.htm
It looks like it's the studios that distribute the tickets for premieres, so you might want to try the relevant studio website then...
Is that any use?
I'm living in San Diego now and my wife is going up to L.A. tomorrow to attend a lawyers' convention. On Sat. she will be visiting a friend who works for some studios there.
I'll see if she can find out anything.

By the way, San Diego is an hour and a half away. There's a big Irish community down here and if you make it down, I can find some activities for you.
We're a whole lot more fun than L.A.

Elly - might be worth a shot
Jim - thanks :)
Hi Michele! I did this trip last year with a couple of friends. Flew into LA, rented a car and drove to Mexico, up to Las Vegas, then San Fran and back to LA. Must say it was a class trip. Don't know about the premieres but like you, I mixed business with pleasure and flew upto Seattle for a couple of meetings with suppliers! The flights I got at a nice price after doing a lot of searching. Have a look at www.opodo.co.uk, you might have some luck there for nice cheap flights! Rgds, Dave
There's a , in that last link. Here's a proper one:
