Bones TO ashes - kathy reichs The next Kathy Reichs novel, Bones To Ashes, will be released this autumn. I've just pre-ordered a copy on Amazon.com I'm still trying to decide if I want to pre-order Harry Potter or simply wait until the weekend of the release and pick up a copy in a local bookshop....

Join the queue for the countdown. Laugh at the dressup folk. Trip up over the small ones. try to exploit what ever freebies there are. Go home and try not to spend the next 6 hours reading the dammed thing

Sounds like fun :)

It also sounds like one of those middle of the night things ! Personally I enjoyed casually strolling into the local bookshop the day of the release and picking up a copy without any queues or delays... Of course it doesn't reflect too well on the local culture...

By it's nature it is a middle of the night thing (namely midnight)
It's dumb fun but if you're planning on spending the next day reading it anyway...

As for the walking in to the shop. It depends on the size or the shop, their order size and the hype.

You could always ask to the shop to reserve a copy to play safe.

Personally I'm not going to buy the book...
The box set maybe

Michele, I wouldn't bother pre-ordering the book from Amazon. I did it with book five, I think, and I didn't get it for nearly a week after it was released. If you want to pre-order it, go to Eason's.

That's the kind of thing that puts me off the pre-order.

Michele, do you have other Kathy Reichs books? I'm totally into Bones and loved the life-within-a-life way they referred to Kathy as the heroine of Bones' books recently!

I've got most of them. Let me know which ones you want to borrow and I'll pass them to your fiance

All of them please, send them in drips and drabs if you prefer - I have a lot of long flights coming up so they would be great!
