Irish Weather Goes Mad

I'm down in Cork this weekend, as I have to collect a cat (don't ask!). I was down here last weekend as well to attend the Miss Ireland finals. Last Sunday's drive back to Carlow was very "interesting", as there were monsoon-like showers of rain that resulted in flash floods - aquaplaning might be more fun if I'd come prepared. I'm now trying to look out the window of my mother's sitting room. I stress "trying", as there's yet another torrential downpour accompanied this time by thunder and lightning. It's July - what the hell is going on?

The apocalypse I believe :)

Hmm, so that's what that horseman was doing :)

Michele

The technical/scientific explanation is that it's all connected to macro effects form the el nino/el nina activity in bot the Pacific and Atlantic respectively.

Or in two words -- global warming.

On that happy note... bye :)

Ralph

This is my first summer in Ireland. Although I love rain THIS is becoming too much even for me... :)

@Ralph - thanks for the technical update :)

@David - where are you from originally?

To Michele: I came from the Czech Republic nine months ago. Coming to Ireland has become my dream since I first visited the SW part of this beautiful island (Kerry). Friends still keep saying I am a fool to go somewhere with frequent rain downpours. But I don't mind. I am here and I am happy... :)

I was reading this post and I seen a link that caught my eye, miss Ireland and I thought ill have a gander at that - see some pretty girls, also to check out who won etc.. However I clicked on a link to Miss Irish Sun 2007 she looked a bit sexy and I seen this http://www.missireland2007.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/06/georgiasalpa.jpg why oh why do designers do this. How can any professional company (doop.ie) serve images like this on a site.
