The Sunday Business Post Computers in Business has just launched a new blog. There's no real content on there just yet, but hopefully they'll make full use of it over the coming weeks and months.

A few editions ago you published a list of places to buy technology online, could perhaps address in a future edition the exclusion of The Republic of Ireland from the delivery areas associated with the major sites such as amazon or play.com (in relation to electronics). The reasons for the reluctance of these sites to deliver here is never stated, is it the cost of an post, the awkwardness of returns or something else? If any of these sites opened up their market to this island it would bring the largest reduction in the cost of technology since the arrival of the Internet.

On more a specific note could you advise me on the cheapest place to buy a HP pavilion dv2535 laptop or similar that will actually deliver to Ireland. The purchase of this laptop from amazon is 250 euros cheaper than retailing in stores here.

Kind Regards
John Riordan

I don't have anything to do with the Sunday Business Post, however I believe that a lot of vendors have stopped shipping to Ireland due to the recycling legislation.
