Harry Potter Pre-Release Pricing War

| | Comments (7)
One of the things about popular films is that they are guaranteed to create a sort of pricing war in the online shops.

The latest Harry Potter film is no different. The more popular online shops are listing the pre-release pricing and the deals are quite interesting, though Play.com seems to be slightly ahead of the crowd.

Now what on earth would I do with a Harry Potter doll?

Think, hd-dvd player from xbox 360 for 200 bucks. Then you only needs Windows (yeah I know, that hurts ...).

I've been looking into multi-format players, but so far there aren't that many on the market.

Of course I'd also need to upgrade my TV and my audio setup ...

Audio setup, didn't touch yet. Went for a new HD Ready TV though (Sony 32KDL3000, a multi award winner), perfect for standard streams and most HD content.

Bought a DVD upscaler too (went for the Sony rdr-hx750 since it was cheap and had hdmi+1080p upscaler) which makes a big difference even on normal DVDs.

The sound system would require a bigger place, so for my apartment right now, i left it alone. Besides, no full DTS-HD has been quite finalized yet.

How much was the TV?

I was looking at a couple over the weekend, but I got completely confused :)

Komplett (or peats even in Dublin) sells it for 1,100 euros, not a bad deal at all. It has all the things i can think of including a DVB-T for future proof.
