Anyhow .. .As of about half an hour ago we've dropped the price on IE domains to 21 euro.
Go to our main site to check for available domains or to transfer your existing domains.
This weekend's Computers in Business supplement with the Sunday Business Post contains three mentions of us:
- My monthly column
- The annual hosting report
- The wiki infamy thing was picked up by them and is on the inside back page, even if they got the cartoon character wrong
If you've emailed me in the last week or so and haven't got a reply now you know why :)
Of course if your email didn't have a semantic subject line I probably won't find it ever - sorry!
I've also got a bit tired of clients being negatively affected by Wordpress' dumb caching (or simple lack of it!) which has led to this.
All I'll say is this. When this site made it onto the frontpage of Digg the server barely flinched. If I'd been using a default install of Wordpress the site would have taken out the entire server...
This is my third trip to Los Angeles in the last 12 months and my second time in Hollywood.
What is Hollywood famous for?
Movies - naturally, but it's only on this trip that I'm getting to see any films.
So far I've seen I Am Legend and Cloverfield - both in the Chinese Theater, which has pretty good Dolby sound.
Today is the last bit of freedom before DomainFest kicks off, so I'm contemplating going to the cinema again today. I've also been tasked with picking up some boots for my younger sister, but that's proving to be a bit problematic !
Last night was a bit special, as we got to see Harrison Ford, Callista Flockhart and John Travolta who were all at an event in the hotel. Several other stars were meant to be in attendance, though that may have simply been rumour

While I was expecting it to be a fun event I wasn't expecting it to coincide so closely with the latest domain scandal - Network Solutions are up to no good! It seems like the internet industry gets over one bit of furore only for another one to come out of the woodwork.
What will be next?
In any case I expect NetSol's latest ploy to be a hot topic.
Of course a trip to LA would be a bit boring if I was closeted away in a hotel for my entire stay, so I'm hoping to take in a few touristy things over the couple of "free" days prior to the event. I'm not 100% what I'll get up to yet, but LA isn't exactly a boring city, so I'm sure I'll find something to keep myself amused :)
If nothing else I can always go and ogle the new Apple Macs!
Richard mentioned that a number of the EUBrowser squats have been dropped
Someone created a firefox search plugin thingy for searching domains from the Blacknight site - very cool!
Now I really should get back to cleaning the house ....
We've extended the EU domain offer, so you can still get a doteu domain for a mere 5 euro!
How quickly time flies!
For once I am reasonably well organised... I booked the hotel months ago and the flights a couple of weeks back. I'm now getting not so helpful update emails from BA!
Since I'm arriving a couple of days before the meeting starts I shouldn't be suffering from too much jetlag and I'll also have a bit of time to do other things. I still haven't decided what I'm going to do, but another trip to Warner Brothers is extremely tempting and Wicked is also playing, so maybe I could do something "cultural".
I was hoping to get to see a Lakers' game, but it looks like they're playing away again, so maybe next time (January possibly?)
If anyone is planning on being at ICANN in LA and wants to meetup for coffee / beer / food or whatever let me know
